With the impending changes with regards to GDPR, Data Encryption is going to become a big focus in the IT industry.

Encryption refers to any process used to make sensitive data more secure and less likely to be intercepted by those unauthorized to view it. There are several modern types of encryption used to protect sensitive electronic data, such as emails, files, folders and entire drives.

ITC works with several security vendors to provide data encryption services.

GDPR

GDPR will come into effect from May 2018, so the impending changes are fast approaching.  A big part of the new GDPR regulation will dictate how companies can market to individual consumers – PECR (Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) – which state permission will be via opt-in, instead of the current opt-out of e-marketing that is the current law.

GDPR is there to protect consumers across the European Union, including the UK despite Brexit.

Right to Erasure

Under the EU’s new General Data Protection Regulation, businesses around the world must not only keep personal data private, but they will also be required to “forget” any personal data related to an individual on request – and the GDPR right to be forgotten will be a significant part of compliance with the new rule.

Businesses need to act now on GDPR – ITC Service is one of a handful of organisations fully primed to ready to assist any business in meeting the new regulations on client data
